This is my first time doing something like this…so here we go.
*Obi-Wan Kenobi voice* Hello there. My name is Jennifer Spires, and I am a graphic design intern for Mansell Media. I am currently a senior graphic design major at Jackson State University, with plans to graduate in the spring of 2023 (fingers crossed). I am also a 2018 graduate of Hinds Community College, majoring in graphic design. Before that, I was majoring in architecture and had plans to go to Mississippi State before being convinced to change my major to graphic design due to my love of drawing and computers (and for the betterment of my mental health). As a child, I always loved drawing and playing on the computer (except for the dial-up), and it ultimately influenced my decision to change my major and pursue it. Little that I know that I would have so much fun doing it in the process!
About me...sometimes I get a bit anxious talking about myself, but I’ll spill out some tiny deets. I am very introverted and shy, but I strive to get the work done. But other than that, I enjoy listening to music (mainly rock and alternative), watching wrestling, old shows, and anime, playing video games, and spending time with my dog, Winnie.
There’s a reason why I chose to do my internship here; it’s because it has a warm and homey atmosphere for a shy introvert like me! Well... that’s one reason, but the main reason why I’m interning here is that this company is allowing me to improve my skill as a graphic designer. I want to learn from and see if I can hang with some of the best this state has to offer. And that is what I am doing right now!
I am so grateful for this opportunity to do an internship at Mansell Media, giving me a chance to learn and improve my skill and to be better.
