It is the next big thing. In short, it is the new virtual universe, experienced in 3D, where everyone will have an avatar. According to Wikipedia, it is a collective virtual shared space created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space, including the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented reality, and the internet.
How Do Marketers Need to Prepare?
The metaverse is essentially a virtual community with a need for connection. Companies can start preparing by building that connection in the virtual world. For now, this could include opening new commerce stores on Instagram and Facebook shops and creating AR advertisements.
The metaverse may still be years away, and you shouldn't just sit on the sidelines and wait. Businesses need to start planning now and get ahead of the curve.
